Appointment of Director of Schools for the Limerick and Clare ETB<\/strong>

I would like to inform you that I have been appointed as the LCETB Director of Schools with responsibility for directing the functions of the ETB regarding the schools and colleges under its patronage.

I will be starting this new role as soon as a permanent Principal is appointed at Gaelchol\u00e1iste Luimnigh by LCETB, with the position being advertised next week.
I am delighted that I will still have the opportunity to work closely with the staff of Gaelchol\u00e1iste Luimnigh in my new role as this school is very close to my heart.\u00a0
I will also continue to work to deliver the new school as soon as is practicable.

I would like to thank the entire school community of Gaelchol\u00e1iste Luimnigh, from the bottom of my heart, from parents to staff, the Board of Management and Parents Council.
In particular, I want to acknowledge our wonderful pupils and past pupils.\u00a0 There is something very unique and special about a Gaelchol\u00e1iste Luimnigh pupil, and this is recognised all over the world.
I am very fortunate to have worked with you all, in the interests of our amazing young people.\u00a0 I am very proud of our pupils and the influence they are having on people and society all over their world.

Gaelchol\u00e1iste Luimnigh is one of Ireland\u2019s top schools and caters for over 660 pupils in the Limerick City area.\u00a0 It is renowned for its highly advanced and successful integration of technology in teaching and learning.\u00a0 Apple selected Gaelchol\u00e1iste Luimnigh as one of its Apple Distinguished Schools in 2017 – the first in Ireland to receive this recognition.

The Inspectorate has praised the very effective leadership, management and culture in Gaelchol\u00e1iste Luimnigh in Whole School Evaluations, Programme evaluations and several Subject Inspections since 2009.
