Acting Deputy Principal
Daithí Ó Géanaí, Acting Deputy Principal at Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh is a native of Dingle, Co.Kerry. He attended secondary school in Meánscoil na mBráithre Críostaí Daingean Uí Chúis and followed on to the University of Limerick where he achieved a Bachelor of Business Studies degree (Honours) in Business Studies, majoring in Economics and Finance. Daithí achieved first class honours in his Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Business), again in the University of Limerick. He continued his studies in the National University of Ireland Maynooth where he undertook the Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership (An Tóraíocht).
Daithí first joined the Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh in 2010 as a teacher of Business Studies. A focus on Leaving Certificate Economics followed on from this and he has also had special duties and assistant Principal roles primarily in the function of Transition year co-ordinator and year head, where Daithí very much enjoyed the interaction and cooperation with students, teachers and parents alike. This joint effort he feels is imperative in allowing for a sustainable and holistic development of the student and their learning environment in Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh.
Daithí was appointed to the role of acting Deputy Principal in 2021.

Deputy Principal
Sinéad Ní Chiardha, Deputy Principal at Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh is a native of Ennis, Co Clare. She attended secondary school at Coláiste Muire in Ennis and achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours) in History, Politics, Economics and Sociology at the University of Limerick in 2004. Sinéad achieved First Class Honours in her Higher Diploma in Education from NUI, Galway in 2005/2006. She began her teaching career at Blackrock College, Dublin in 2006, where she taught Irish and History. Sinéad was appointed as a teacher of History and Business Studies at Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh in 2008. She went on to receive a Diploma in Irish from NUIG in 2009.
Sinéad was appointed as Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh’s first Deputy Principal in September 2011. She had been a Special Duties Teacher and an Assistant Principal at Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh previously. Sinéad was elected as Secretary to the Limerick Principals and Deputy Principals Association in September 2014.
Sinéad plays a central role in the care of students at Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh and her door is always open to students and staff. She believes that communication with parents is vital and always welcomes suggestions, comments or questions from parents which will be to the benefit of their children. Sinéad puts emphasis on the holistic education and welfare of the students at Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh and she encourages them to develop each different aspect of their lives.
