Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh’ Student Council or Comhairle na nDaltaí is a vibrant and vocal group. The Student Council consists of one representative from each class in the college. The Students meet with the Deputy Principal every second Tuesday to discuss issues of importance and concern to the student body. They meet with the Principal at least once per term. Each Council Rep takes information which affects the student body back to their respective classes after each meeting and likewise takes the view, queries and concerns of their fellow students to the Council for discussion. Issues which the Student Council have been involved in to date include: the provision of Vending Machines for Students, provision of shelves in student lockers, ensuring that after-school study takes place on Fridays aswell as Monday-Thursdays. Most recently our Student Council has been very pro-active in ensuring that a new healthy canteen service has come to Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh. They have raised issues which concern the students in their class/year group, with the Student Council and have devised solutions to deal with them to the satisfaction of the students.
