Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh Third Year students were presented with the ‘Fáinne Gaeilge’ during the end of year school service by special celebrity guest, Laoise Ní Chantalúin (Louise Cantillon) from Spin SouthWeset.
Each year, Third Year students are awarded the ‘Fáinne Gaeilge’ to mark the completion of three years in school.

The gold Fáinne awarded to students symbolises their fluency in our native language, an Ghaeilge. Wearing a Fáinne symbolises your link to the Irish language. An Fáinne is worn to show that you are able to and are willing to speak Irish. The ring is chosen as a symbol as it stands for unity and continuity, there is no beginning or ending, or separation. Students wear their Fáinne Gaeilge each day to show they are Irish speakers, and that Irish is part of their daily lives.
