CareersPortal is Ireland’s leading online resource for people of all ages involved in the planning or changing their career path.
The site was officially launched by the Minister for Education and Science in April 2008. It was developed as a direct response to a report generated by the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs in 2006 which recommended that: a single careers portal website should be developed to provide information to a range of different user groups each with different guidance requirements.
The site has become an integral tool for guidance professionals throughout the country and is supported by both public and private organisations who assist us in disseminating the most update information about the various careers and courses across the different sectors of the economy.
It has grown hugely, both in content, and in its user base since its launch by the Minister for Education in 2008 and is now receiving over 2.3 page impressions a month. The site provides up-to-date and relevant guidance materials to a growing range of user groups:
- 2nd level School Students
- Early School Leavers
- College Students and Graduates
- Adult Learners and Jobseekers
- Parents and Guardians
- Guidance Professionals
